AriZona RX Energy Watermelon
August 22nd, 2026650ml can!?!? That’s huuuuuge! I’ve never seen anything like this size for an energy drink. Luckily, despite its size it is reasonably low in caffeine which brings its caffeine content down to similar levels as a whole 500ml can of Monster. It’s also not carbonated! Mostly this tastes like a fruity tea drink and that’s not my cup of tea… the warning on the can saying “This product is a food, not a drug” is an interesting touch too. It’s billed as a herbal tonic, mostly watermelon in flavour and you can taste the watermelon but it’s soured a bit by the tea.

Toxic Waste Energy: Watermelon Sour
August 8th, 2026I mean, sour is not really the right word for it. It’s just a tangy watermelon flavoured drink but with premium branding on the can. This is the second Toxic Waste drink, the first one was the Blue Raspberry one, and whilst this is a nice tasting drink it sadly doesn’t meet the sourness expectation just like that other flavour.

Frugo Energy Watermelon and Strawberry
May 16th, 2026Pretty nice! You can taste the watermelon, but it’s subtly against the much stronger strawberry. Sweet, no bitterness at all, and smooth. I’d be happy getting this one again that’s for sure but it is on the lower side of strength in terms of caffeine content.

Hell Strong Watermelon
January 31st, 2026It says it’s “Strong” watermelon flavour and it’s not wrong! The flavour is not subtle at all, very much in your face and attacking the back of your throat! If you like watermelon flavouring then this is certainly for you. I found it perhaps a little bit strong for my liking which made it sickly by the end of the can, but that could be just down to my own personal taste because the flavour itself was nice.

Red Bull – The Red Edition 2025 (Watermelon)
July 12th, 2025Red Bull seem to be re-releasing all of their previous Winter and Summer editions as “The [insert colour here] Edition”. In this case we have 2020’s summer edition being released as 2025’s Red Edition. Not to be confused with 2013’s Red Edition which was cranberry flavoured. It’s all very confusing to keep up with especially for a reviewer of energy drinks – I have to keep a sharp eye out to spot a subtle change like this! Anyway, it’s a watermelon flavoured energy drink exactly the same as the 2020 summer edition – strong, sweet and a little bit sickly if I’m honest once you’ve got to the end of the can.

Furocity Watermelon Twist
March 8th, 2025Smooth and fruity! I really enjoyed this, it was refreshing and interesting without getting too sickly I’d definitely get this one again. Conveniently the can says that this is watermelon and strawberry flavour and I reckon the strawberry is what’s making this so good.

Ghost Warheads Sour Watermelon
January 27th, 2024The second of three Ghost energy drinks from the USA that I’m trying – this time Warheads Sour Watermelon flavour. I’ve never tried Warheads but they appear to be a sour flavoured hard candy and I had plenty of sour sweets as a child, but I’ve no reference point to compare this drink against sadly. As a standalone drink it is both sour and watermelony, but very sickly and strong in flavour much like the blue raspberry one was. Not a great taste experience and not very refreshing.

Rockstar Refresh Watermelon Kiwi
December 30th, 2023As drinks go, this is quite a smooth but generally bland energy drink. It’s refreshing and inoffensive but it just doesn’t stand out. The most unusual thing about the drink is the colouring of the can. The pink inside the Rockstar star actually looks like someone left the can out in the sun and bleached a red star to pink.

Prime Energy Strawberry Watermelon
December 9th, 2023I couldn’t taste the watermelon, but I could taste the strawberry. Do you know what? This is basically pink lemonade, like you get in the Irish supermarkets, but obviously with a massive caffeine hit. It’s nice and refreshing, just like pink lemonade is.
