December 5th, 2020Amazing! I do love a lemon flavoured energy drink. This one is smooth and refreshing, not too strong or sour/bitter at all. At only 69p it’s a bargain, and it benefits from a slight reduction in calories in order to avoid the UK sugar tax by using a mixture of sugar and sweeteners.

Red Bull Summer Edition (2020) Watermelon
September 26th, 2020This is the summer edition for 2020, and they’ve chosen what should be a refreshing watermelon flavour. Sadly, they’ve taken that watermelon flavour and made it quite strong, amped up with a very syrupy sweetness which makes this drink quite sickly. It starts off nice, but becomes a bit of a chore to get all the way through – if they’d made it a little weaker then it would have tasted several times better.

Monster HydroSport Superfuel Hang Time
September 19th, 2020It’s a refreshing and still sports drink of an unknown flavour! Some sort of fruit but I genuinely couldn’t tell you what it is. It might be a very watered down version of the Monster Zero (blue label) drink, but it really is tricky to identify it. It’s nice anyway, so give it a go. Being non-carbonated, it’s very easy to drink.

Lucozade Revive – Lemon and Lime
September 5th, 2020New Lucozade time! I love lemon and lime drinks… I know Lucozade doesn’t have much caffeine in, so you won’t get a kick from it in that department, but it is very refreshing and easy to drink. A nice summery tipple.
NOCCO Tropical
August 29th, 2020Now here’s the tropical NOCCO – but don’t get this one, get the pineapple one I reviewed last week. This one is a bit sharp and synthetic tasting, quite difficult to get through the whole can really.

NOCCO Red Berries
August 15th, 2020I first discovered NOCCO at a 7Eleven whilst on holiday in Sweden. Being Sweden, it was a very expensive purchase. Then, a few days later I found myself in Norway and discovered NOCCO was even more expensive there! Anyway… I saw NOCCO being sold in Morrisons in the UK and it was considerably cheaper. This red berries flavour was quite bitter, but not as unpleasant as I had expected. After a few sips I had accustomed myself to the bitterness and started to enjoy it. An interesting line of drinks if you can find them. Oh yes, and they have a lot of caffeine in them.

Ka Reload Black Cherry
August 8th, 2020It’s ok I suppose! Basically, it’s a cherry Lucozade rip-off. To be fair, it’s not far off in flavour, it’s just missing that typical Lucozadeness (??) that I’d describe as the almost trademark way it feels when it fizzes in your mouth. It think Lucozade must have patented a special bubble shape or something for that because no other fizzy drink feels the same. Back to Ka Reload… yeah, it’s drinkable but not very refreshing or caffeinated.

August 1st, 2020I guess it’s like the Ford of sports drinks world??? Geddit? No? Oh well. It’s fake tropical Lucozade. Not much in the way of caffeine but also not as packed full of sugar.
Grenade Energy
July 25th, 2020New energy drinks are a rare discovery at the moment, but gym-bunny nutrition brand Grenade have been pushing out new products left, right and centre. One of those is fortunately for me an energy drink. There’s no description on the can to describe what the flavour might be, but my taste buds are telling me that this is a grape soda drink. It’s low(ish) in calories, and contains the on-trend BCAA protein mix you’d expect from this brand too. It tasted pretty good and gave me the required (quite high!) caffeine kick that I craved.
