Monster Energy Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red
June 9th, 2025This is not your usual Monster concoction. It’s a fruity and smooth blend with a slight citrus twist to it and I can’t quite place the flavour… I *think* it might be strawberry lemonade, but there’s definitely more than just strawberry in there. Potentially a little bit of grapefruit for the tang? However you look at it, it’s a nice easy going drink in a very premium can complete with a textured surface and a cute cartoon design. A good flavour for the summer.

Rockstar Blueberry Pomegranate
May 31st, 2025This is one of a number of Rockstar drinks for 2025 which are branded with the names of various music festivals around the UK. This flavour for the TRNSMT festival is blueberry and pomegranate – it mostly tastes of blueberry, quite strongly too. I couldn’t taste the pomegranate, but it was extremely sweet and strong in flavour plus packed full of caffeine.

Warrior Rage Energy Shot: Lemon & Lime
May 24th, 2025You don’t tend to see many energy shots anymore and I think the reason is because they tend to be quite bitter. This one is no different – you can just about taste the citrus from the lemon and lime flavouring, but it’s mostly masked by the sourness from the shot itself.
Virtue Clean Energy Lemon & Lime
May 18th, 2025How can you ruin lemon & lime flavouring? It’s the perfect refreshing combination. Well somehow Virtue have managed it 🙁 They’ve made it bitter and given it a strange aftertaste. I was very disappointed, this was sharp and watery with none of the sweet refreshing tang that I was hoping for – look, I’ll happily chew on slices of lemons and limes all day, I love them, but none of that flavour was in this drink sadly.

Sneak Energy Raspberry Lemonade
May 10th, 2025Very nice indeed! I’ve seen Sneak Energy advertised as a powder mix before but this is the first time that I’ve seen it in a can. This flavour is raspberry lemonade and it’s very smooth and refreshing – a proper summer drink. At £1.49 I think it’s definitely setting itself up as a premium drink… I’m not convinced it’s that good but it’s not far off.

Monster Punch: Rio Punch
April 26th, 2025My reaction to trying this the first time: “oooooh”. It’s different! I was expecting a tropical flavoured drink but it’s so not that! It’s very sweet and there’s something almost parma violet about it, but not quite. It says on the can that it’s a blend of exotic fruits with a hint of spice. I can’t taste the spice, but I get the exotic fruits. It might be watermelon? Whatever it is I like it!

April 19th, 2025Am I starting to warm to Apple flavoured drinks or are they just making them less horrible? I wasn’t looking forward to trying it to be honest but it’s nice! A smooth apple flavour, not really tangy like you’d expect from Millions, but very sweet and tasty.

Red Bull Summer Edition (2025) White Peach
April 12th, 2025Red Bull are becoming quite consistent in their releases of Summer and Winter special editions. For Summer 2025 they have gone with White Peach. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know there were different types of peaches so I had to look it up! Normal peaches are ‘yellow’ peaches, and compared to those a white peach is supposed to have a more delicate and sweeter flavour. It’s certainly nice in a drink, slightly tangy but refreshing. However, it does become sickly quite quickly and definitely needs to be kept ice cold as it’s not as nice once it starts to warm up.
