Emerge Impact
August 7th, 2021This is at first site a rebranded version of Emerge Dual, which itself was a re-brand of Emerge. In fact, they haven’t even updated the blurb on the back of the can which still states that “Emerge Dual is a great tasting energy drink…”. That may be true, but this isn’t Emerge Dual. In fact, look a little more closely at the nutritional information and you’ll see that it contains 9 calories/100ml. That’s very low, and I assume that the drink has been reformulated in order to avoid the UK sugar tax and keep its price low. Honestly, it tastes just as sweet as I remember it and you would be hard pressed to tell that it is effectively a lower calorie drink.
Coca-Cola Energy Cherry
July 31st, 2021It’s Cherry Coke with a kick! Much nicer than normal coke in my opinion because the fruity cherry flavour makes the classic coke taste a lot lighter. Full of calories and caffeine, this drink is a great sugary summer beverage. If they did a sugar-free version it’d be even better!
Rubicon Raw Raspberry and Blueberry
July 17th, 2021Yeah I liked this one! Nice and fruity in all the right ways. Quite a strong flavour yet despite it getting a bit sickly towards the end it was still perfectly refreshing.

July 10th, 2021Meh. Well, what can you expect for 25p? It’s slightly bitter and a bit sickly, like cheap apple squash really.
Exstase: Watermelon
July 3rd, 2021For only 25p, you can’t expect too much! This was a high calorie energy drink with a very strong flavour to it. The watermelon taste was sickly and with a slight bitter tang to it, it was quite difficult to finish the can really even on a hot day.

Nocco Limon Del Sol
June 26th, 2021I love lemon energy drinks… regular readers will know that already. This one is super-high with caffeine (55mg/100ml) in a medium-sized can (330ml) so packs quite a punch. Added BCAAs for that unneeded post-workout hit combine with a low calorie count to deliver a curious combination (I won’t rant about energy drinks aimed at serious gym-goers again), but it is very easy to drink and highly refreshing.

Rubicon Raw Orange and Mango
June 19th, 2021A slightly disappointing tropical drink. After trying the cherry & pomegranate flavour first, I had high hopes for this one. Sadly it didn’t live up to those expectations. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad tropical drink at all, it’s just nothing special.
Rubicon Raw Cherry and Pomegranate
June 12th, 2021The first of three new Rubicon flavours I’ve discovered – and I hope the other two are as good as this one. There’s a strong and tangy, slightly sour cherry flavour to this – not much of the pomegranate that I could tell, but overall this was a really nice drink. Not too sickly, but still very sweet.

Monster Ultra Fiesta
June 5th, 2021And the second Monster flavour of the year (2021)… this time it’s another tropical one but in sugar-free form. Ultra Fiesta is a mango flavoured beverage in a large 500ml can. It’s mild and refreshing, and easy to drink due to the lack of sugar making it less sickly than full fat versions.
