Red Bull – The Orange Edition Sugar Free
June 2nd, 2018Woah that’s orangey! This is probably one of my more favourite orange flavoured drinks, and as a bonus it’s sugar free. It’s been a while since I tried the original Red Bull Orange drink so I can’t easily compare, but from what I wrote I’d considered it to be a different take on orange drinks. It’s sweet and tangy but not sickly, very smooth and refreshing.

Emerge Zero Orange
May 12th, 2018A really nice mellow orange flavoured energy drink. It’s not too strong or sweet making it really quite refreshing. Emerge are definitely up there amongst my favourites in term of flavour and price and this variety just helps to prop up that opinion.

Asda Blue Charge Diet Orange and Mango
December 30th, 2017At least the own-brand me-too drink makers are starting to get it right. This one was at least in the ‘ok’ group of drinks. It wasn’t too sweet or sour, but had just the right amount of tang to it.

Monster Punch: Pipeline Punch
July 29th, 2017When you open the can you are greeted with the unmistakable ‘tropical’ aroma of this drink. It turns out the taste is not quite as the smell suggests – it’s fruity and slightly sharp, but much smoother than say Monster Ripper.
Mountain Dew Kickstart Orange Citrus
June 3rd, 2017Just a pleasant smooth orange energy drink. Nothing special about it, but it has the expected Mountain Dew feel to it.
Lucozade Zero Orange
September 10th, 2016Finally, a sugar-free Lucozade! Problem is, Lucozade isn’t known for having much caffeine in, so if you remove the sugar too then there’s neither fake nor real energy in this. It’s just fizzy orange. A nice fizzy orange, but that’s all. Zero kick. So far as energy drinks go, no energy is quite original.

Red Bull – The Orange Edition (2016)
March 26th, 2016It’s certainly a different take on orange flavoured energy drinks. It’s sweet but not strong or sickly. The taste is quite definitely orange, but not watered down either. I think they’ve struck a good balance of flavour. When compared to something like Lucozade, it’s not as sharp, fizzy, or sickly. When compared to one of the other ‘own-brand’ orange energy drinks, it’s much smoother and refined. You can’t taste that it’s a Red Bull product, but you can certainly tell that it’s a premium product.

Monster Ultra Sunrise
November 7th, 2015Orange flavoured, I think. It’s a really light and fresh flavour, which is definitely in the citrus zone. It’s very much like a flavoured water which makes it refreshing and thirst quenching. With zero calories, it’s also less likely to damage your diet too. Probably the most unusual thing about this drink though is the textured can. While you are drinking it, the nobbly bobbly lumps all over the can give you quite a good grip on it and certainly assure you of a quality product.
