Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy Mixed Berry
August 19th, 2023A bit disappointing really, it’s just a boring mixed berry drink. I don’t know why I’m surprised at being disappointed with it seeing as it does clearly state “mixed berry” on the can. I think because it was on sale for £1 per can making this potentially a premium priced drink even at that reduced level I was expecting a bit more from it. It has higher than average caffeine content and a ton of informative nutritional information plastered across the can, but it just didn’t taste as unique as I’d hoped.

Prime Energy Drink Orange Mango
August 12th, 2023Once again Prime Energy like the stronger flavours in their drinks. This is a super-sweet orange flavoured drink, I didn’t really detect much mango in there but possibly it’s being lost in the overall strength of the drink’s powerful flavour. I found it quite sickly to drink personally, and not that refreshing. The can design and branding is premium though with the glossy black top and bold colouring.

Virtue Clean Energy Berries
July 29th, 2023Really sharp, bitter and healthy tasting… not exactly what I look for personally in an energy drink. If you drink it super cold straight from the fridge then it’s acceptable but as it warms up it leaves a bit of a strange aftertaste. Not to my liking really.

Nutramino Heat – Orange
July 15th, 2023Yes, orange… nothing else even slightly coming through here. It’s a synthetic orange flavour, a bit like Lucozade but less watered down. I need to repeat my warning with this brand though – assume this innocent looking 330ml can is really the equivalent of about 600ml of Red Bull in terms of caffeine. Don’t go downing it too quickly or having extra cans later that day because it will give you a decent kick for several hours!

Protein Dynamix Tropical
July 8th, 2023Much like the mixed berry flavour of this drink, it’s quite sharp and bitter. If you like that sort of thing then you will like this drink! It’s a strong flavour too, not too watery, so you get a real tang on your tongue from it.

Nutramino Heat – Melon and Apple
June 10th, 2023Regular readers will know that I’m not a fan of apple flavoured drinks. Even combined with melon didn’t improve it for me. It wasn’t too strong or artificial though, but be warned that this drink packs a punch in terms of caffeine. Not only does it have a high 55mg/100ml content, it’s also a slightly larger can than normal at 330ml which means there’s 181.5mg of caffeine in this can compared to the 80mg in a regular 250ml can. So be careful, assume you are drinking more than two cans when you consume this!

Dragon Energy Sugar Free
June 3rd, 2023I’ve tagged this as a clone, but it’s sort of not. Whilst there is that expected taste that’s very similar to Krating Daeng (if you remember that one), it’s a nice energy drink that’s very fruity and sweet. Considering this is a low calorie drink you’d struggle to know that as it tastes like it’s packed full of sugar.

Braw Energy Red Cherry
May 27th, 2023The second Braw flavour I’ve discovered. Like the Blue Raspberry one, the can is glossy black with a paper label stuck to it – quite smart but unusual. Flavour-wise it doesn’t kick you in the face, but the artificial cherry is quite nice and balanced just right. A pretty good drink for the budget price I paid (89p I think).
