Rockstar Organic Energy: Island Fruit
July 15th, 2017Containing half the caffeine of regular Rockstar Energy drinks, this organic version is like a tropical drink but leaning towards lime quite a bit. It’s really good even if you’re not fussed about the whole organic certified labelling.

Monster Energy: Gronk
July 8th, 2017I have no idea who this Gronk guy is, and the labelling on the can doesn’t do much to help me either… so over to Google and it turns out he’s a footballer of the American variety. I’m guessing there’s some sort of sponsorship tie-in here then… trying the drink out, it’s basically a slightly tweaked regular Monster energy drink, like the one with the green M on the can but probably a little less sweet tasting. It was nice to try, but really not worth the special edition labelling.
Monster Ultra Black
June 17th, 2017This cherry flavoured drink is really nice – but it does need to be drunk whilst cool. Once it starts to warm up it becomes a little sickly.

Nos Rowdy
June 10th, 2017It’s a clone! If I’d purchased this in the UK I’d have expected to find it in a budget shop costing only a few pence, but as I purchased this in Vancouver it cost a fortune! It’s really quite strong and sugary, and sparked me into life very quickly, but given its competition of the bigger brands it just doesn’t compare on taste.
Mountain Dew Kickstart Orange Citrus

Crazy Horse
May 13th, 2017This is a proper local Canadian product discovered while on holiday in Vancouver. Not only does it state it’s a “Certified Canadian Aboriginal Business” on the can, but it’s also flavoured with Saskatoon Berry which is a very local ingredient to make use of! That gives this drink a score of 5/5 for originality. The flavour itself is sweet and tangy, with a strange aftertaste – a bit like sour cherry mixed with cranberry juice.
