Emerge Zero Sugar
January 17th, 2015I’m not sure if this is just the new name for Emerge Light or not, but it doesn’t taste like a usual clone. It’s sweet and tastes of non-descript synthetic fruits. It’s quite nice but cheap, although it does the job.

Revive & Survive Sugar Free
January 10th, 2015A nice budget sugar free energy drink. Absolutely nothing special about it, but it was cheap, tasted okay, and does the job of satisfying those energy cravings. Not as sweet as the full fat version, but just right overall.

LSV Sours – Cherry
December 27th, 2014Not so sour, but still quite nice. It’s just a fizzy cherry flavoured energy drink. I enjoyed it, but probably won’t buy it again. What I really want to see from drinks manufacturers is a properly sour energy drink. I want one that makes me pull my gums back over my teeth that it’s so sour. I’d buy a whole case of those!
KX Cola
December 13th, 2014What a pleasant little cola drink. It’s not too sickly, it’s not too strong. It’s just a nice caffeinated cola. So much better than I’d expected from the KX range of drinks to be honest.

November 29th, 2014It’s original alright – it doesn’t appear to have any added caffeine over the guarana extract. It tastes okay, it has no strange side effects, but it doesn’t give you the expected energy kick. It has tons of sugar in, so is not really aimed at the health conscious either which begs the question: just who is this drink aimed at anyway?

Mixxed Up: Lime
November 22nd, 2014I do love my lime/lemon/citrus flavoured drinks. Usually they’re the most refreshing and enjoyable of all the flavours. This one, I have to admit was nice, I think. I drank it almost absent minded and it wasn’t until I’d finished the can that I suddenly wondered what it tasted like. Having said that, it must have been okay because I’m sure I’d have noticed if it weren’t – but by the same evidence it also didn’t stand out either.
Relentless Origin Ultra
November 8th, 2014Considerably better than Relentless Origin. It doesn’t suffer from that odd brewed taste of its full fat cousin, and is overall much more palatable. It’s still a bit watery, and not the best Relentless in the range, but it is low in calories. Choose this over regular Origin.

Scheckter’s Organic Energy Lite
October 25th, 2014Smooth yet sharp, much like the full fat version of this drink. It still tastes like it must be good for you, and it even has the organic and Fairtrade logos plastered all over the can. It firmly fits in the tree-hugging category of energy drinks, but if you want something with street cred wid da kidz, stick to the other brands!
