Blue Charge Orange Twist
December 22nd, 2012Don’t believe the can… orange indeed. There’s probably some orange in there somewhere but it tastes much more like passionfruit than orange. There’s quite a sharp tropical fruit taste that comes through and it wasn’t as nice as I’d hoped… which is especially annoying given that I was expecting it to be orange! It has a decent kick though given it is full of sugar and caffeine, and it’s not a clone – but I do think it’s false advertising!
Explosade Energy Orange
September 24th, 2011It’s just fizzy orange squash really. A nice drink which is low in caffeine. This is Aldi’s own-brand equivalent of Lucozade Energy Orange and compared to that drink it’s much stronger in flavour. It’s also very good value by comparison too and much better tasting than the more expensive Powerade Energy Orange. Not much of a wake-up factor to it though…
Monster Khaos
August 26th, 2011I was slightly disappointed that this drink didn’t have the usual Monster flavour in the background. It was okay, mostly tasting quite like orange with perhaps the other fruit juices in there somewhere. Not one of my favourites then, but I’d say it is still worth trying.

Relentless Inferno (Orange)
July 24th, 2011Does anyone remember being given Calpol as a child? I’m not talking about the original purple liquid, I mean the Calpol for older children. It was orange flavoured and drinking Relentless Inferno immediately reminded me of orange Calpol. That’s no t a bad thing, but it’s the most accurate way I can describe the flavour. It doesn’t have the usual background taste of Relentless at all, it just has a very sweet syrupy orange flavour. It gets quite sickly towards the end of the huge can, and is not ideal as a refreshing drink for a hot day. I’d suggest it is suitable for sipping slowly over a few hours while working away at your coursework or latest project deadline… slow is the key here.

Lucozade Energy Orange
July 21st, 2011Much better! It’s still a very watered down flavour, but the subtle orange masks the underlying fizzy sugared water taste of the original Lucozade nicely. Quite refreshing and pleasant to drink, but lacking the caffeinated kick of a conventional energy drink. I’d suggest this is suitable for drinking later in the day if you need a short-lived pick-me-up which won’t stop you getting to sleep later that evening.
