Gangster
September 5th, 2015Interesting branding… it’s clearly a cheap clone, and it tastes watery but very sweet by comparison to others, but the brushed silver can with black detailing does give it a premium look. I have to say though that the name ‘Gangster’ is unlikely to ever become a mainstream brand!

August 15th, 2015There’s not a lot I can say about this really, it’s a clone, it’s a large can, it’s sweet, it’s middle-of-the-road and nothing special other than the FIST on the front of the can. Full marks for an interesting brand name and can design.
Spartan
August 1st, 2015For Honour. For Glory. For Victory. But not, as it seems, for Sparta. It tastes okay, in fact it tastes an awful lot like No Fear energy. As a consequence, I’m considering it a clone, but not quite a clone of Red Bull. It’s a large can and very sweet, but for the 39p this cost me it’s not bad at all.
LSV Zero Calories
July 25th, 2015Pretty boring and unimaginative. It doesn’t even have zero calories. To me, when something says “Zero calories” on it, call me fussy but I’d expect the calorie content to be zero. In this case it actually contains about 10 calories per can which is still the equivalent of 5 Tic-Tacs. It tastes like a generic sugar-free energy drink too.

June 9th, 2015It tastes okay, but a little on the bitter side of the clone drinks. It’s sugar free, so it has that in its favour, and there’s a lot of it, but it doesn’t seem to pack that much of a wake-up punch.

Missile
April 18th, 2015So this drink, erm, looks like a.. er, missile. Definitely a missile. Not a, erm, well, it doesn’t have anywhere to put batteries anyway. As a can, it attracts your attention, and as a drink it’s quite nice. It’s nothing original, but it does taste quite similar to Monster Energy instead of being one of the usual Red Bull clones.

Singh is King
February 21st, 2015Interesting branding, but ultimately overlaid on a generic low quality clone. Very sweet and sticky, not particularly refreshing and definitely not unique. On the plus side, it doesn’t taste that bad really, I had just hoped for more originality given that it claims to be influenced by people from around India.

Revive & Survive Sugar Free
January 10th, 2015A nice budget sugar free energy drink. Absolutely nothing special about it, but it was cheap, tasted okay, and does the job of satisfying those energy cravings. Not as sweet as the full fat version, but just right overall.

Power Horn
September 20th, 2014Again, it’s all in the name. I’m assuming that this is a special edition for Valentine’s day or something, but under the covers it is just a pretty bland clone. Slightly watery with a sticky aftertaste, but on the positive side it cost 99p for 6 cans.
