The clue is in the name… water. It tastes like water with a dash of flavouring. Now, at first I didn’t enjoy it because of that wateriness, but about halfway through I realised it was actually quite nice. The tropical flavour is very mild and because of that it’s very refreshing and easy to drink. As for wakey-wakeyness, it isn’t very strong, but it’s certainly original.

Nooo, another tropical drink! Nope, I didn’t like this much. It was sour, sharp, and everything I don’t like about tropical flavoured drinks. It was very cheap though, but even that doesn’t make up for the taste. Stick with their bog standard energy drink or if you must go for tropical, splash out on something a little more expensive.

Watervit is Boot’s own-brand range of juice mixed drinks under the ‘shapers’ banner of products which appear to be aimed at the health conscious female lunchtime buyers. Refresh & Revive is lemon and lime flavoured but in my opinion tastes like lemon-meringue flavoured Muller Crunch Corner yoghurts – it’s amazing! This is a brilliant drink with average caffeine content that I’d be happy to buy again.

A bog-standard Red Bull clone which tastes sweet and as you’d expect. The main reason for the slightly elevated price-tag compared to other budget drinks is assumedly down to the Boost branding. The cans are attractive and look premium by comparison to the usual range of cheapo clones. Boost is most commonly found in 500ml bottles from my experience, but occasionally you find it in a 250ml can as per the photo attached to this review. If anyone ever sees a can of sugar-free Boost please let me know where you saw it cuz I can’t find it anywhere!

This drink is nice… it’s fruity, sweet, and everything you’d expect from Pink Lemonade. I’m puzzled by the Lucozade branding though, because as a sports drink it is pretty bad – it’s far too sickly and sweet to be refreshing. If you want a change, give it a go, but if you’re after a refreshing sports drink, stick to the flavours you’re familiar with.

Wow. Possibly the biggest buzz I’ve had from an Energy Drink in ages. My tongue went kind of numb and tingly, which I’m sure isn’t a good thing. It tasted pretty good though despite being a bit Red Bull-y… but I’m going to be kind and not stick it in the clone category. I’d recommend this drink only when you plan on not sleeping for a few days. Sadly it doesn’t have the re-sealable can like its regular sibling.

Wow! I do love Mountain Dew, and it’s always annoyed me that you can’t get the same range of flavours here in the UK as our US cousins enjoy. Well, Game Fuel is at least a step in the right direction. Released as a special flavour in honour of the launch of Halo 4, this Citrus and Raspberry drinks tastes awesome. Unlike most other Mountain Dew varieties, this one isn’t fluorescent in colour either. It’s fruity and refreshing, and only (compared to other energy drinks) lightly caffeinated. I hope it is a permanent addition to the range.

I’ve had to start a new category: anti-energy drinks. Chillax is NOT an energy drink, but is in fact designed to chill you out, relax you, generally wind you down. It predomenantly contains rosehip juice as well as chamomile and passionflower to bolster its laid back credentials. It does taste really good too. Of course, with this being an energy drink site, it won’t score that highly due to the lack of caffiene. Give it a go, makes a change completely to the usual
