Rockstar Organic Energy: Island Fruit
July 15th, 2017Containing half the caffeine of regular Rockstar Energy drinks, this organic version is like a tropical drink but leaning towards lime quite a bit. It’s really good even if you’re not fussed about the whole organic certified labelling.

July 1st, 2017This drink has a real premium feel to it. It’s presented in a tall metal canister-style bottle, almost like a thermal flask. Flavour-wise there’s nothing I can think of to compare it to. It’s lightly carbonated and very smooth and sweet, yet not really flavoured at all. It’s slightly more caffeinated than Red Bull, but other than that it’s near identical in its statistics. There’s also a sugar free version available but due to airline luggage weight restrictions I had to be more selective in which drinks I sampled whilst in the US!

Mutant Super Soda
June 24th, 2017Mutant is made by Monster (as you can tell by the give-away M logo on the bottle. It appears to be a rival to Mountain Dew, and taste-wise it has a nice smooth and refreshing fruity tang to it in a very similar way. However it’s much stronger in terms of caffeine!
Monster Ultra Black
June 17th, 2017This cherry flavoured drink is really nice – but it does need to be drunk whilst cool. Once it starts to warm up it becomes a little sickly.

Nos Rowdy
June 10th, 2017It’s a clone! If I’d purchased this in the UK I’d have expected to find it in a budget shop costing only a few pence, but as I purchased this in Vancouver it cost a fortune! It’s really quite strong and sugary, and sparked me into life very quickly, but given its competition of the bigger brands it just doesn’t compare on taste.
Mountain Dew Kickstart Orange Citrus

Spike Shooter
May 27th, 2017This drink is dangerous! Pay careful attention to the caffeine content labelled on the can and the associated warning text. A regular can of Red Bull contains 32mg of caffeine per 100ml of drink, Spike contains more than three times that amount making this a very potent cocktail. Ok, so it genuinely has zero calories, but there is a warning on the can advising you to drink just half a can in order to assess your tolerance to it. It *will* wake you up, and in my case give you a headache which is unusual for me! I followed the instructions, consuming half a can first, waiting about 8 hours before having the rest and I’d suggest anyone else trying this drink also be cautious. It does taste pretty good though – it’s a smooth mixed berry flavour from what I can tell and it’s balanced about right.
