Not a fan of this one sorry Monster. It tastes to me like a really weak melon squash. I mean seriously weak and watery. Perhaps the weather needed to be warmer to enjoy it, but all I could think about was, this needs more pre-mix in it! Probably would be nicer if the flavour was stronger.

When it says Berry on the can… it means one specific berry: cherry. It’s really tasty, but it doesn’t quite give the caffiene hit you’d expect from an energy drink (quite low at 14mg/100ml). I found this in Ireland – never seen it in the UK though so keep your eyes out for it.
Ok so I did enjoy this, but it’s nothing special really. Imagine regular Rockstar Energy in a different can. It’s slightly sweeter, but otherwise it’s the same so far as I can tell.

Not sure I liked this much. It was still and very refreshing, but quite tart and tropical. I’d have preferred something a bit more lemonade-like, but having said that it was a change from the usual fizzy energy drinks.
This is an odd brand image. Named “Spam”, I’m unsure if it’s anything to do with junk mail, pork products, or a reference to Monty Python. The slogan is “Living on the Edge”, and there’s a seemingly random picture of a fly above. Makes no sense to me! So far as the taste goes, there’s something a bit cream-soda like about it which is nice at first, but the aftertaste turns bitter and lingers a bit too much

I think this variant is actually just titled ’44’, but with a Lewis Hamilton name-based endorsement thrown in the mix. I think what Monster have is a generic ‘sponsor endorsement’ recipe that they bring out with a special can design every once in a while because this tasted just like the can of Monster Energy: Gronk which I tried whilst on holiday in the USA (Gronk being an American footballer…). Well, Americans probably don’t know who Lewis is as much as us Brits are unfamiliar with American footballers, so I guess it makes sense to use a different personality in each country! As I described in the other review, it tastes nice, but it’s just a slightly tweaked version of the regular Monster Energy drink.
It’s sugar free! That’s the best bit to start with. It’s flavoured with Acai Berry, and that’s a difficult flavour to pin down in terms of a description but I’ll try. To me it tasted like mixed berries (raspberries, blackcurrants) with a slight bitterness and tang added in similar to what you’d get from a tropical drink. Because this was an American drink, it was in a larger can than we’d expect in the UK, but I liked this drink overall and I hope that Red Bull start bringing their new editions over here.

You can definitely tell that this is a premium lime flavoured drink – it lacks the ‘lime cordial’ taste of most of the other cheaper brands. Sadly, I didn’t find this very refreshing though which is a real shame. I could also only find this in Spanish, so I’m not sure if there’s an English language label out there either, but whatever the case it’s a member of the Red Bull family now.
Shots are normally bitter and hang around on your tastebuds nastily for a while, but this one was surprisingly better than usual. It is sweet (although you can detect the harsh undertones of a traditional energy shot) and fruity, and woke me up pretty quickly. That’ll be the caffeine at work there, because this shot is sugar-free.
